If you haven’t seen Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 yet, beware! You will immediately want to upgrade! But why beware? Microsoft has delivered improved upgrade tools that make it even easier to move to the latest version, right?

Well yes but… the upgrade tools shown off at last month’s Directions EMEA were used for an impressive NAV 2013 R2 to NAV 2015 upgrade in under three days. However, few live sites currently on NAV 2013 R2 would feel a move to NAV 2015 was a strong enough business case. And as Microsoft is committed to providing mainstream support for current and previous versions, most sites tend to upgrade to every other version. Consequently, NAV 2013 R2 sites are less likely to upgrade when version 8 appears unless there is a compelling reason.

Standard tools do exist to manage the upgrade of older versions; sadly these tools have not been improved by Microsoft and so NAV sites on version 6 and prior will find the upgrade to NAV 2015 on a par to previous upgrades. The good news going forward is that all will be easier from now on.

And, more good news, TVision has improved the upgrade experience:
• Slick process based on the experience of upgrading clients
• Tools to ensure you only upgrade the software you use
• A 5-4-3 offer to existing clients for upgrade assessment*

*Offer for existing TVision clients and valid for bookings made by end of this year.
