TVision at Directions EMEA 2016 in Prague

It’s the third and final day of Directions EMEA 2016, and after last night’s festivities, we’re back at the convention centre.  Alongside some final workshops, today’s all about PowerApps and Flow.

PowerApps and Flow

Microsoft’s business apps platform (snazzily named ‘PowerApps’) makes it easy to build and streamline business processes, and make your data work for you.

Connect existing data sources and services — Excel files, SharePoint lists, CRM records, and even custom APIs — to magically create a business app that does what you need it to do.

The great thing is that any PowerApps are accessible on pretty much any platform, from desktop to tablet to mobile.

Even more impressive is that PowerApps can harness Azure cloud services, analytics from PowerBI and Cortana Intelligence, and even combine automation from Microsoft Flow.

The Microsoft Business Application platform

Microsoft Flow allows you to create automated workflows between apps and services to get notifications, synchronise files, collect data, and more. Currently, 51 apps are supported, including NAV, Office 365, Sharepoint, Dynamics CRM, and Azure services.

What this means in practice is that you can make your data work harder – for example: create a new customer in Dynamics CRM and Flow can add the information to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017, create a set of folders in Sharepoint, and even send a notification on Yammer. Clever stuff!

This year’s Directions EMEA conference has been a real eye-opener.  We’ve found out what’s in store for NAV 2017 and Dynamics 365, and learned lots about the new features and functionality that we can take back to the UK and share with our customers.
