Microsoft Gold partner, TVision Technology has successfully completed the implementation of The Wine System at Mangrove, specialist UK spirits and liqueurs agency and sister company, Barwell & Jones, fine wine merchants, both based in London.

The Wine System is a complete ERP (enterprise resource planning) software solution built on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV platform that has been developed by TVision Technology to meet the specific needs of the wine and drinks distribution industry.

Formerly part of the long-established Coe Group, Mangrove was set up in 2013 to create a leading spirits agency with an enviable portfolio of spirits. The project required establishing independent systems for the subsidiary companies following the acquisition of Coe Vintners by Enotria Winecellars last year and subsequent restructuring and the establishment of The Vintry as the service company for the Group. It was also the opportunity to implement a solution to meet the needs of the rapidly growing companies.

“We had reached a point in our growth where using the shared group system was no longer working for us,” Nick Gillett, MD Mangrove UK. “We decided to implement our own systems, key to that was selecting the best ERP solution.”

The Wine System project began in autumn last year and went live in May 2016, on time and within budget. It is the first site to go live since the Wine System gained Certified by Microsoft Dynamics status in December 2015 although the solution has been supporting leading wine merchants for over 13 years. Over that time The Wine System has been constantly enhanced to meet the growing and changing needs of all aspects of drinks distribution.

“This has been a great project to work on,” Claudio Martell, Wine System Product Manager at TVision. “The team at Mangrove stated from day one that they wanted to stick with standard software and the Wine System has matured to the point that no further enhancement was required.”

Commenting on the go-live week, Mangrove’s team were amazed at how calm the cut-over was, with “business as usual” achieved within the first week and staff very positive about the new system.

“We are really pleased with the project,” Nick Gillett reflects. “The team at TVision did a great job of helping us through every step and delivering the solution. We look forward to a long and happy partnership.”
